News - Oct 18, 2021 Organic Waste Management for Identified Informal Settlements and Villages

Fiji is seeking to utilise the PacWastePlus investment support to segregate and process organic wastes generated in informal settlements and villages. The Fiji Ministry of Environment, with support from Fiji’s iTaukei Affairs Board, has identified 25 communities to receive this assistance.

The engagement of the iTaukei Affairs Board enabled the Ministry to ensure the PacWastePlus project actions will occur in different villages to those supported by iTaukei Affairs, to ensure the best possible support for communities, and ensure effective and efficient activities are implemented across government.

The Project will continue its close association with the iTaukei Affairs Board to add value to both projects.
