Event - Oct 18, 2021 Clean Pacific Roundtable Deep Dive – Side Event #7: Sustainable Financing

The Sustainable Financing Deep Dive will provide participants an understanding of Deposit and Levy systems currently in operation in the Pacific, and knowledge of options and opportunities to implement or expand their own system using the 21-step pathway.

The Deep Dive will be broken into three parts:

  1. ​Short overview of what are Sustainable Financing Deposit and Levy systems and what is the 21-step pathway
  2. Presentations from each country in the Pacific with a Sustainable Financing Deposit and Levy system in place (FSM, Kiribati, Palau, RMI, and Tuvalu)
  3. Panel Question and Answer Session – providing a peer-to-peer learning opportunity for countries seeking to implement a Deposit and Levy to ask questions of a panel made up of countries with a scheme in operation

  • ​Understanding of Sustainable Financing (Deposit and Levy) systems and the 21-step pathway to implement or expand a systems

  • Knowledge of the Sustainable Financing (Deposit and Levy) systems currently in place in the Pacific (FSM, Kiribati, Palau, RMI, and Tuvalu) and details of their operations
